Waste

  • countrywide schools waste awareness and environmental education programmes reaching over 80% of county primary schools in 6 years
  • 10 community composting and recycling schemes
  • 14 pilot recycling schemes in partnership with Lancashire local authorities
  • 40,000+ tonnes of recyclable and compostable waste diverted from landfill
  • 100,000 free home composting bins distributed to householders in the county
  • 4 furniture reuse projects
