General Guidance
How
much?
The Fund operates three funding schemes:
Community
Chest
The Community Chest is available as a small grant
for a small scheme usually to support groups who are seeking one
off funding for a project. Applications are accepted for grants
between £3,000 and £15,000. The overall cost of the project should
not exceed £30,000. The Fund may act as Environmental Body for
the project and administer the paperwork required by the regulator.
Strategic
Fund
The Strategic Fund is available to organisations who are registered
as Environmental Bodies with Entrust, the scheme regulator. Applications
are accepted for grants up to £25,000 but the overall cost should
not exceed £250,000.
dirtworks
The Dirtworks programme is funding to encourage young people to
volunteer and get involved with practical environmental schemes.
Applications are invited from organisations with the capacity to
supervise and deliver a high quality project with young people.
Schemes should cost up to £25,000 with the Fund contributing
£20,000. The capital works element of the project should be
at least 40% of the cost.

support from other grant sources is welcome.
