Renovation of Parbold Village Hall: LEF grant £10,000 Final grant £20,000

This well-established community resource built in 1995 needed transformation to meet the needs of the diverse community groups who use it. Parbold Village Hall host the Douglas Music Society so a musical performance space was paramount as well as retaining its existing functions as a sports facility, meeting place and general community centre.


Woodplumpton and District Club, Refurbishment and air source heat pump: LEF grant £10,000 Final grant £20,000

Much used, much loved and much in need of total refurbishment! The Woodplumpton and District Club is a delightful old building dating from 1919 given to the village to commemorate those lost in World War 1. The club has been the founder member of several crown green bowling leagues and opens its doors regularly to bowling clubs from all over the north of England. The Club also boasts two all-weather tennis courts which are very popular with young and old alike.



Greendale Wood, Grindleton: LEF grant £27,000

Planted as a new woodland by the Woodland Trust and supported by the Fund in 2000, Greendale Wood is now a much loved and well-used 4.86ha (12 acre) greenspace in the village of Grindleton.
