The Fund wins national Green Apple Award!

The fund win a Green Champions award at the national Green Apple Awards 2006. Anne and Andy are seen here accepting the award from Prof. David Bellamy and the 2006 winner of the Green Hero award.


The Fund has its own annual awards scheme for Best Environmental and Best Community projects.  The scheme was launched in 2005 and the Fund Manager and a representation of the Assessment group make a shortlist of projects from the current years projects with the final selection being made by the Fund Manager, an Assessment group member and a Board member.  Awards are made at the Annual Event. Previous winners are shown below.

BURA Awards for Best Practice in Regeneration

These awards celebrate the wealth of entrepreneurial talent in North and Western Lancashire and recognises the success of local businesses. Categories are:

The Green Apple Awards for Best Environmental Practice

Are you doing something that benefits the environment?

Do you deserve recognition for your environmental endeavours?

If so, you should apply for a Green Apple Environmental Award.

The campaign is open to everyone - companies, councils, communities, countries and individuals. Entry is completely free. Closing date is usually in June.

Unilever Dragonfly Awards

The awards recognise the outstanding contributions made by individuals, young people and voluntary organisations towards improving the waters and watersides of the Northwest.

All the award winners are presented with a trophy and the overall winner receives a cheque for £2,500 to invest in their project, with each category winner receiving a cheque for £1,000.
